HIGH COST OF UNBELIEF

Scripture Reading....Matthew 13:53-58

Matthew 13:58...And he did not many mighty works there
because of their unbelief.

As Jesus taught in His home synagogue, how must He have
felt to here the grumblings? they came from His teachers,
His parent's friends, the hometown folks He knew from
childhood....all questioning Him. ?Who does He think He is?
How does He know all this? Isn't He the carpenter's son?
What makes Him so great anyway?"
A smirk here, a scoff there, and Jesus was completely
dishonored in His own home congregation. How sad the
people in Nazareth did not believe Jesus was who He said
He was! Surely, through Nazareth's grapevine, they had
heard about His healing the sick, turning water into wine,
the feeding of multitudes.
Because they dismissed Jesus as a hometown boy, He chose
not to pour Himself into the ones who had known Him His
whole life. Because of their unbelief, they missed out on the
greatest blessing of being taught by the Messiah. What a
tragedy for Nazareth.
What a tragedy for us as well if we choose not to believe
Jesus is who He says He is. Don't make the same mistake.
Believe Him today. Search the word, the Bible, to find
who He really is. He is the light of the world, The Savior
of the world, our only hope to have eternal life. He is a
merciful, powerful, kind, our comforter when we are
so down and sad, one we can go to for any problems
we have. We can talk to Him just what we feel in our
heart and He understands. Do you know Him today?
My prayer is Father, help me avoid missing out on
any miracles because of my unbelief.
God Bless You
Norma
